The Balti Restaurant

5   Excellent new menu

I always look forward to what the guys at the Balti have to offer and it's got even better with an expanded menu of chef's specials which really are a bit different, I've been to many Balti houses and these dishes really are new to even me. Standard of food is as excellent as ever and I recommend it.

5   Five Star

Yet another excellent meal at the Balti last night my Rogan Josh was really tasty as always. I did sneak a taste of the other three meals in our party and they were equally nice.

Always a cosy relaxing atmosphere with fine service. I will be there again next Saturday with some other friends visiting the area and who have asked for another visit to the Balti.

Who needs to go to the Curry Mile when you have a gem of a restaurant on your doorstep.

5   Balti is a Winner

I agree with Lisa's comments - now first class and we love eating there rather than having a takeaway. Great service, they now remember our preferences so we hardly have to order, and the food is good, consistent quality, friendly and fantastic value for money. Well done Atif (is that how you spell it?) and colleagues - keep up the great work.

4   Glad we went back

We first tried this place years ago, I think it had recently opened, and it was awful. We absolutely love a good curry so it was one of the first places we tried when we moved to Alderley. We ordered a take-away and to be on the safe side we ordered three main courses between the two of us, just in case one wasn't to our liking. Well, all three tasted and looked the same, with a delightful layer of grease floating on top. Hence we didn't go back. Instead we set upon a mission to find a good curry house, venturing to Macclesfield then Knutsford and finally settling in Wilmslow where we frequented the same Indian restaurant for years until it sadly closed down about 2 years ago. At that point we decided to give The Balti another try and we are so glad we did. I don't know whether it had changed hands in that period, or changed chefs, or just improved but we haven't been to another Indian restaurant since. This place is a great local, we order a take away most weeks and it is consistently good. The staff are also so friendly and always put a couple of complimentary Indian beers in the bag. Would certainly recommend, our favourites are balti, madras and pathia.
