4   Everything you need for a great Sunday roast

We invited friends over for a roast yesterday so decided to take a walk down to the farm in the morning to buy all the ingredients: chicken, sausages, potatoes and veg.

It was all lovely but particularly the chicken and new potatoes which were delicious and a very good price.

I'll be off down the farm again this week for more potatoes and hopefully to try one of the rotisserie chickens they are advertising.

We're very lucky to have such a good farm shop walking distance from the village and the girls love seeing the animals as well.

4   ....and feed the pigs

The chicken, lamb, goose, sausages etc are great, but the pork is the best -gorgeous. I've never been mad on pork and my two girls usually refuse to eat it but the pork from here is so tender and tasty no matter how we cook it. Plus the girls are always given cakes or apples or whatever to feed to the pigs, which they adore! And yes they do know where their sausages come from!
