5   Very Underrated Pub/Restaurant!

Visited the Trafford Arms for the first time earlier this week with a couple of friends. Found the place ideal for a relaxed and informal meal. The pub has lovely atmosphere with open fires and candles lit, perfect for a meal or a drink on a cold winters evening!

We found the menu had a good choice with some pub classics, nice looking platters, a good selection of wine and some other more creative main courses. I must say we were all pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. I had a fillet steak that was cooked to perfection and it was much nicer than meals I've had at some of the other restaurants in the village!

The service was really good too, the staff seemed to clearly enjoy working there and serving their customers. The service feels a lot less robotic than it does at other restaurants.

Overall, I look forward to visiting again. I feel that this place is very underrated compared to other venues in Alderley Edge. Defiantly worth a visit.

4   Quality and Value

Forget exhibiting yourself on the pavement, wearing sunglasses on dull days, breathing in vehicles exhaust fumes, listening to others unavoidable mobile phone coversations, paying high prices, just to be seen.

This is the place for good, honest fare, well prepared and presented, with real and genuine, friendly service, comfortable and pleasing surroundings, at prices that encourage return visits.

4   Efficient and friendly service

Following a walk on the Edge, my friend and I called at the De Trafford Arms for a light lunch.

The soup and sandwich on offer proved to be both delicious and quite substantial. All for £3.95, helped down with a well kept beer.

Efficient and friendly service, with no raised eyebrows at our outdoor gear. We shall be back.

4   Reliable Pub Grub

If you need a quick inexpensive bite then the De Trafford is the place to be. Simple pub dishes such as scampi and chips are served hot and quickly. Service is always friendly and of course the bill is the best bit - 100 yards from the 80 quid for dinner for two restaurants - you will see a bill which is less than half that.

My choice for a good value meal.
