Gorsey Bank use this butcher for their sausages and having tried them at home, they are the biz. I wanted some cocktail sausages for a dinner, and they were very obliging.

5   A little gem of a butcher's shop

This little gem of a butcher's shop is rarely empty and always has a queue out of the door on Fridays and Saturdays. The butcher, known locally as 'Pete-the-meat', knows most of his customers by name, is always friendly and professional and is extremely knowledgeable about the provenance of his meat and also the best ways to cook it. If he hasn't got the cut you want (very rare!) then he can get it for you. The sausages are made by Pete and are a huge favourite with my children. I have never had a bad or so-so piece of meat from this butcher's shop and am aware that some people travel miles to use it. This is one of Wilmslow's best shops and I hope that it and Peter will be around for a very long time.
