Millbank Drive, Macclesfield, SK10 3DR

For over 25 years East Cheshire Hospice has been providing free care to local people who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness.

Our Hospice provides care for people living in East Cheshire, serving a population of over 220,000 from Mere to Buxton, and from Poynton to the borders of Holmes Chapel.

Our Hospice is a purpose built environment which is bright and welcoming, and open to all. The Sunflower Centre provides day-care and helps people cope with all aspects their diagnosis, from symptom control, to counselling, or a little bit of pampering in our hair salon. It is also a great environment for patients meet other people who have also received a life-limiting diagnosis.

Our in-patient unit is an excellent facility which provides personalised 24 hour care for up to 15 patients. All the bedrooms have direct access to beautiful gardens where flowers bloom throughout the seasons, and the newly refurbished lounge is a calm and relaxing area which patients and their visitors can enjoy.

Our Hospice also looks after the families and carers of patients, because we recognise that it isn’t just a patient who can be affected by a diagnosis. The services we provide can help everyone involved enhance their coping mechanisms; we offer everything from complementary therapies, to spiritual support, to 1:1 bereavement counselling, to play therapy which can help children come to terms with illness and loss.

East Cheshire Hospice is a charity which funds the care we provide to patients, day-care visitors and families and carers. This year it will cost £3.5million to provide care for those in need. Over 80% of our costs have to be raised by donations and fundraising activities, because less than 20% of our running costs come from the government.
